[ The picture above is super computer Deep Blue ]

As I said in my G. Kasparov master profile I would make a blog on Deep Blue vs Kasparov  with all 6 matches I included match 1.

I will still put match 1 here though.

Match 1

Kasparov - black

Winner - Deep Blue

After this Kasparov resigned and that was a milestone in chess history.

Game 2

After game one, all eyes were on Kasparov to see if he could recover from the shocking loss to Deep Blue. The brains of mankind was a heavy weight for Kasparov to carry, but being a world champion, Kasparov rose to the challenge!

Kasparov - white

Deep Blue - Black

Winner - Kasparov

This game had Kasparov win by resignation tying it equal for an interesting next few games.

Game 3

After a great first 2 rounds this game would decide who would lead at the half way point but still peace was kept as it was a draw. Deep Blue once again played the Alapin Sicilian. https://www.chess.com/openings/Sicilian-Defense-Alapin-Variation

The game was drawn after 39 moves.

If you do not know what that is please try the link above it will help you understand. If you used the link feel free to comment below what you learnt.

Kasparov - black

Deep Blue - white

Game 4

This was another peaceful game that had a draw after 50 moves. The best move was Kasparov sacrificed on the 42nd move securing the draw yet again.

Kasparov - White

Deep Blue - Black

They agreed on a draw.

Game 5

It was from here that Deep Blue began the bad time. Kasparov offered a draw on move 23 but the computer declined then Kasparov took initiative and started taking advantage in the game forcing the computer to resign.

Kasparov - Black - Winner

Deep Blue - White

Game 6

Kasparov stuck to his game plan keeping a closed position with deep blue. This was the most one sided game of the series. Kasparov put a nail in the coffin and showed that man is  better at the great game than machine.

This time Deep Blue resigns.

In 1997 there was a rematch between the 2 I will talk about this in my next blog.
