Hello all of chess.com, today I will share with you the Arabian Mate!

In the late middle game or endgame, rooks come into use. They are most affective on open files or ranks, which is normally in the later bits of the game. If a rook is able to attack the opposing 7th and 8th rank, it often puts your opponent under massive pressure. Adding in a knight on the f6 square, a very common mate arrives which you may have played but not herd of! This mate delivered by a rook and a knight is one of the earliest checkmates known.

Fun Fact!

Only the rook knight and king had moved the way they do today!
