Hello everybody, i wanted to talk about one of the most impactful thing in chess, Elo tilt. Everybody that reads this probably has had an elo tilt, whether it is 20 Elo, 50 Elo, 100 Elo, or way more. When we get elo tilt we usually tend to get sad like we just un learned chess in a few games.

When you feel sad, stressed and feel like you want to quit dont quit or lose motivation on chess because you are still the same you that had 100 elo more, just a bit stressed.because you are losing elo  that causes you to get sad because you "aren't" the same guy that had 100 elo more than before. There are a few ways to prevent elo tilt but my favorite one is:

Stop playing rated chess after you lose 2 or 3 games in a row.

This one is my favourite one because this tip saved me tens and potentially hundreds of my elo. Back then i used to play chess recklessly, when on a lose streak i would play, play, play and just lose, lose, lose. Then i would be sad. But ever since i actually used this tip consistently i found myself getting into elo tilt more rarely. At first it is pretty hard to tell your hand to stop playing chess after 2 to 3 loses but there is other alternatives that you can use to still play chess but does not risk your rating.

1.Playing Unrated games

By playing unrated games you can play and not lose rating. You can even challenge yourself to fight againts a higher rated player to learn from them or have a challenge.

2.Playing on a different platform

Playing on a different platform such as lichess can make you play againts players without losing rating on chess.com, but if you are worried about your ratings on lichess too then you can switch between sites.

Those are a few ways you can play chess while not risking your rating but if you don't want to play chess because you are too stressed you can do these things:

1.Rest

This is the most simple thing you can do. Rest. With resting you can refresh your mind and make you clear minded on your next game. I usually rest for about 1 or 2 days, but if you really need it feel free to rest up to a week.

2.Analyze your games

When you analyze your games don't just analyze when you have brilliants, but analyze your loss games. There you can learn from your mistakes and be a better player. When you analyze your games you can spot what to do in positions you lost on.

3.learn and watch chess videos

If you don't wanna rest and want to keep learning (except game analyzing, if you think its boring and you don't have free game review) then you should watch youtube videos or read some books. This can clear your mind to make you not think too much about your rating and you know, just have fun! If you want you can watch comedic chess videos like Gotham chess's "How To Lose At Chess" Playlist or his other videos. Or you can even watch other youtubers, it really depends on your choice. But i prefer gothamchess.

My Experience On Elo Tilt

I have had various elo tilts i had one in 700 elo three in 900 elo and one in 1000 elo. Those elo tilts (50+ Elo) makes me want to quit everytime. In the 700 elo tilt, i even didnt play chess for 3 months! Until i came back to break 800 Elo. It is a Reacurring think that i have seen in EVERY single elo tilt i have. Every time i would lose 50+ elo i would gain back 80+ Elo, which cancels out the elo tilt and gives me a new peak elo. It happens every time. Every time i tilt i came back with an even bigger elo than before. It may be though to regain it, and may take weeks or even months. But it is a thing that almost every chess player has had. It is a completely normal thing and it isn't time to quit. Just stay strong because many have fallen victim to quitting because of elo tilt. So you must be strong to adapt to elo tilt. Because the longer you endure it the better you will get!

I am an improving blogger. If you want please tell me tips or things that i can improve on my future blogs such as:

1.Grammar

2.Blog Structure
