Never Give Up
Never Give Up Bad Days Are A Part Of Life
Yo! I’m Ahaan, and I have a dream of becoming a Grandmaster.
A lot of people think chess is just about being smart, but I’m learning it’s actually about grit. Just recently, I hit a rough patch where my rating dipped all the way down to 633. It would have been easy to quit right there and say "I’m not good enough."
But my motto is: If you lose, never give up. Always keep trying.
The Comeback
I stopped tilted playing and started focusing. I learned the Queen’s Gambit ($1. d4, 2. c4$) and started taking my Rapid games more seriously. Within a few days, I fought my way back up:
From 633...
To the 700s...
And today, I officially hit 810 Rapid! 📈
What I’ve Learned So Far:
Blunders happen: Even GMs make mistakes. The difference is they don't let one mistake ruin their whole day.
Opening Knowledge matters: Learning the Queen's Gambit gave me the confidence to take the center and control the game.
The "Floor" rises: Even when I have a bad session and drop a few points, my "bad" chess is now better than my "good" chess was last month.
What’s Next?
The next stop is 900, then the big 1000. It’s a long road to 2500+ and the GM title, but I’m 12 years old, and I’ve got nothing but time.
If you’re on a losing streak right now, don't reset your account and don't quit. Just keep playing. Every loss is just a lesson in disguise.
See you at the top!
