USCF Game 35(W): Kindred-Trimble

Nov 13, 2012, 11:41 PM 0

This was the start of a new tournament and a new division for me. I entered the Philadelphia World Open U1400 section. This was by far the largest tournament I’ve ever been a part of. In my section there were 137 participants. I was lucky to come in 13-26 place, actually making a little bit of the prize money. I won 4 lost 1 and had 4 draws to make 6 points out of the 9 rounds. In round 1 I faced Donald Trimble who was rated 1364 to my 1257. His all-time high rating is 1430. I remember the game itself as being a highly intense and competitive game until he blundered horribly late in the game. I remember it as a very long game that ended extremely abrubtly.
