USCF Game 42(D): Olynik-Kindred
Round 8 yielded yet another drawn game of the opposite bishop variety. My opponent was Henry Olynik who was rated 1301 at the time with a peak rating of 1600. The thing about Henry was that he was the only blind person I’ve played in tournament play. He had a set that he would feel with his hands and he had his wife help him with the transition of moves from the tournament board to his feeling set. He was a nice man and a good player.
