Wayward Queen Attack
This is the Wayward Queen Attack:
This opening can also turn into a 4 move checkmate like this:
This opening is used by lower rated players like me, and this opening can either be good or bad. The good part is that you can get checkmate early into the game, if your opponent doesn't block it. The bad part is that your queen can be attacked a lot, which is a waste of moves. Also, the only thing you develop is your queen, while your opponent can develop their knights and bishops. Once you start playing higher rated people, you shouldn't play this opening because they know how to block it.
How to block the Wayward
The most common way to block the the wayward is Qe7 or Nh6
Qe7
If you still try to do a 4 move checkmate(it won't work) and move your queen to f7 then black can take your queen with their king or queen.
Nh6
If white goes Qf7, then black takes the queen with Nf7. Be aware that white can take your knight and get checkmate like this:
But do not, I repeat do not try to block the queen with g6 because white can check black with e5, then they take your rook on h8.
Example:
If I am black and someone plays the wayward, then I would play this:
By doing this you would "sacrifice" a pawn but then you would capture a rook. But if white moves it's queen back to d1, then do not try to check the king and take the rook. If you do then white will take your knight like this:
All in all, it is better not to play this a lot because when you play advance people, that might be the only opening you know. This might cause you to blunder and lose a lot, trust me I learned the heard way.
If you have any comments or ideas on what I should do next, then please leave your suggestion in the comments. It will be appreciated!
