Road to 2000
Is anyone out there still trying to get to 2000? Maybe 2023 is a better goal. Or 1984, going back in time a bit.
If you're like me, maybe the road got pretty pot-holed and bumpy over the last 20 years. So, as construction season winds down, let's re-pave that road. Or at least grade it with GM Smirnoff at the wheel.

What's that? You don't remember his 2 golden rules from last time? Well we'll come back to that at the end, dumb dumb.* (Author's note: I'm talking to myself here).
Now that we know the proper spelling of his name (if not pronunciation), here are the rest of GM Smirnov's rules of the road:
#1. Move your piece forward to the most active square.
#3. Do not defend unless you have to.
#4. To take is a mistake.
and #5. Improve your least active piece (or peace if you're studying politics).
And there you have it.
*He's kind of swerving around in this video on 2 Chess Rules to Reach 2000, which I already covered in a convoluted manner. Honestly, does he really expect me to be able to calculate variations to the end in order to reach 2000?
