Hi everyone!

I haven't posted a blog post for a long time. But now it's time to write something new. As you probably know, less than a month ago I finished playing in the 2021 Kyrgyz Chess Championship.
For the first time, the Chess Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic organized not just one tournament, but three: a classical chess tournament, rapid and blitz. We started with a classic tournament and the first round was played on February 23rd.

My friends and my viewers who often watch my streams asked me if I was ready for the tournament. But it was always difficult to answer this question, because (as it seems to me) you never know how the tournament will turn out for you. For the last 1,5 years I have only played chess online, but I felt that this format was very different from live chess at the board. Yes, I tried to solve puzzles, analyze my games during streams, but still I couldn't call it a real preparation.

As in previous years I had to combine the tournament and my work. I never take vacation to play "at home". Although I have to spend a lot of energy to combine both, I still find such a schedule more convenient for me. When I am busy in the office, I get distracted from my thoughts and worries about the upcoming game. But the downside is that I had to prepare for the game during my lunch break and I didn't have that much time.

So I'll start with the first round, in which I played against a talented 11 year old chess player from the Karakol Chess Academy (Karakol is the fourth largest town in Kyrgyzstan, near the eastern tip of Lake Issyk-Kul).

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the link to Rapid Chess Championship of Kyrgyzstan. Probably it is not available anymore. But I can say that I finished 2nd in that tournament.
