Are you "That Annoying Guy?"

Are you "That Annoying Guy?"

I have been interacting with a lot of people here and recently I have come across some real choice people. So, here are some questions you can ask yourself to determine whether or not you are "that guy.." (hereafter referred to simply as 'that guy')..

First though, who is "that guy?"

For this example, "that guy" simply refers to the guy who is a gentleman the first game, and an asshole thereafter.

How do you know if you are "that guy?"

Game 1: Win lose or draw, you say "Good game" and generally a nice thing or two thereafter.

Game 2: Win, or lose... but usually win, you say "ouch" or "wow, what happened".. or something like that.

Game 3: Win, you say "Haha.. see ya"

"That guy" even goes farther and talks to you while the game is going on.

Do not misunderstand me, I ask not for special treatment, but I have played chess against some of the most egotistical men in my brigade and they are not half as bad as the handful of users I have encountered here.

I am writing this in hopes that some of you will reconsider what you're saying BEFORE you press the enter key.

How to tell if you are that guy?

** If you have to ask if what you're typing is appropiate, you are that guy!

1. Am I typing something offensive after having won?

- If yes, and it's intentional, you are that guy.

2. Am I acting like a 5 year old child, who doesn't like what Mom says?

- If yes, you're "that guy."

3. Am I secretly angry at myself, but about to take it out on my opponent?

- If yes, you are that guy.

4. Is my opponent better than me? Will what I'm about to type give me the emotional high ground?

- If yes, you are that guy.

5. What can I type to offend my opponent?

- If you think this, you are that guy.

To be fair, I will update this if and when I encounter a similarly annoying woman :)
