Rare Caro Kann sideline with 1.e4 c6 2.Qf3?!

When I have the black pieces I frequently play the Caro Kann defence.

Today I was faced with a very rare and rather dubious sideline, which I had not encountered before.

According to my database the most common reply to 2.Qf3 is 2...d5, here are the relevant games:

The move I chose in the game, 2...e5 has also been tried before, as has 2...e6:

While I don't believe the move 2.Qf3 is a very challenging idea against the Caro Kann, it is good to have seen it once before, to be able to play against it with confidence, when met in an otb situation, especially in rapid or blitz games.
