The German Gambit

The German gambit is a strong move that is widely used in Germany from 1914-1945 this gambit was played by Kiser Walheim II, there are 2 variations of this gambit. The Walheim variation and the "Toothbrush" variation. The Walheim variation used pawns and rooks, while that toothbrush variation used the pawns, rooks and knights.

So in 1920 a homeless German man created a new move for this gambit. In that day the Toothbrush variation was invented. It was named after that mans toothbrush mustache.

The toothbrush variation is a simple move for the German Gambit it plays like this

After the division of Germany the German gambit became banned in all German chess tournaments due to Germanys laws against swastikas in games. By 1986 the gambit ceased to exist.
