How I Made My Brilliant Move
If you visit the game and review it, you'll see that my opponent blundered a lot of pieces, giving me the advantage. But he held up solid defense around the king, so I was having trouble trying to checkmate him. But once he/she blundered more pieces, I took action. My opponent attacked my bishop on h3, so I tried to sacrifice it to back-rank mate them. He saw right through it, and we kept playing. I took a pawn, and his/her rook took a pawn on the 7th rank. I checked him with my queen, and his king went to g2. I took his pawn with check, and he played Kh3, which was a blunder. If his king went to g3, my plan wouldn't have worked. With Kh3, my opponent allowed me to play the brilliant move...Drumroll please..... RH6!! This move allows me to control the h file and locked up his king even more. He played Kg3, and Qg1 was mate.
How to Make a Brilliant Move
It is not easy to make a brilliant move. I have only made 2 in my chess career. But the key to making a brilliant move is to study tactics. If you don't want to sacrifice pieces and play way too safe, you'll likely never make a brilliant move. You want to play riskily. It depends on your play style. If you like to stick to the books and win, you can. But you can play more riskily to win in style at the expense of possibly losing.
