Arnolio vs. Mellowmike

My record was one win two losses going into this match versus Mellowmike. Our ratings were both in the 1200s although my opponent had a 40-point advantage going to this match. However my game has been doing better lately and I thought I could match up well and defeat this opponent in a conventional multi-day match up. Unfortunately it did not turn out that way.

My opponent was ahead to begin with but early in the middle game made of blunder. I was able to capitalize initially but then made a series of weak moves under pressure between the 30th and 35th move to hand the game to my opponent as my game imploded quickly. By the 34th and 35th move I'd given away my rook...without a fight.. the analysis said 😕.. and my opponent took out my Queen with a series of excellent moves under pressure. Which checked my king and queen at the same time...thump😖 Once my opponent had captured my queen, I raised the white flag and congratulated him on his victory. Mellowmike came from behind to procure the white flag and get his third victory in four matches. The computer analysis shows he played 400 points better than me but what mattered was how Mellowmike played during crunch-time consistently finding the best move and applying pressure to quickly win. 🙂😖
