Rare checkmates in chess (see my 11 rarest checkmates blog first)
1. EN PASSANT CHECKMATE
When you checkmate while En passant.
2. CASTLING CHECKMATE
When you checkmate while castling at the same time. Also gives you a chess.com achievement called "Castle Vicory".
3. DOUBLY DISAMBIGUATED BISHOP CAPTURE CHECKMATE
The actual rarest checkmate in chess. This checkmate requires three bishops of the same color to be aimed at a single piece, and capturing that piece with one of the bishops results in checkmate. This is extremely rare because it requires very specific piece positioning and coordination, as well as the opponent's piece being on the correct square and the opponent not resigning. The notation for this checkmate is also extremely rare. Will never happen to you or in a real game. Only Hikaru and Croissant can get it,
4. FOOL'S MATE
1.f3? e5 2.g4?? Qh4#
Will never happen in a real game because even 100s will know better.
5. LEGAL'S MATE
An opening checkmate trap with the following moves:
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 d6 4. Nc3 Bg4?! 5. h3 Bh5? 6.Nxe5! Bxd1?? 7 .Bxf7+ Ke7 8. Nd5#
Will almost never happen in a real game because people rarely play 3... d6 or 4... Bg4?!.
6. SMOTHERED MATE
While not as rare as the others, a smothered mate, where a king is surrounded by its own pieces and checkmated by a knight, is still relatively uncommon due to the specific piece positioning required.
7. TWO KNIGHTS MATE
While two knights alone cannot force a checkmate, it is possible with the help of a pawn, and this can be a very rare and challenging checkmate to achieve.

8. BONGCLOUD OPENING TRAP
1.e4 e5 2.Qh5 Ke7?? 3.Qxe5#
Will never happen in a real game because beginners would never play 2...Ke7??
9. RESET CHECKMATE
A checkmate where you troll your opponent by promoting your pawns to create the original minor-piece lineup and place them in the original 1st rank. Following that, you pushed the king around until checkmating by placing their final piece in the original place.
Will almost never happen in a real game because of how silly it is.
10. KING CHECKMATE
When you move your king out of way so another piece can checkmate the opponent king.
Extremely rare to occur, if you get this you are lucky, not even Magnus Carlsen has gotten this on chess.com.
Will also give you a chess.com achievement called "Killer King".
