I am going to tell you main principles and objectives of English opening.

English Opening starts with 

1.c4

Objectives:

1.Gain centre control using side pawns.

2.Controlling d5 square.

3.Fianchetto the bishop.

4.Tuck the king in safety of pawns.

5.Attack on king side with g pawn.

This opening is super easy to learn.
