THE RTB

Best of September

Hi guys ! Welcome To the RTB (Read The blog) We are starting a new RTB serie, The sicilian ! Let's start with the most common variation, The open sicilian . There are over 100+ Variations. So every post will be one episode. Hope you enjoy this new serie and let's start !

As we all now, the sicilian starts with e4-c5

The sicilian

And here we play Nf3. To start the open sicilian we play d4-cxd4, Nxd4.

As we see in this open position, black and white are in a good position. The knight in the center is really good, and black pawn structure is also pretty good.

Chapter 1. 4...Nf6

So after Nf6 we can start with the move Nc3

there is the Najdorf

With the Najdorf  there is 4 main moves. Bg5 , Be3 : English attack, Be2 Opočenský

, h3 : Adams attack.

If you play Bg5, it has no variations, but it rests the Najdorf.

Now lets move to the next move after Nc3.

There is the REALLY , REALLY famous Dragon.

The Sicilian dragon is a really famous oppening. Black bishop will later go Bg7, this bishop will be one of our best pieces because it is really powerful on that grand diagonal. After that there are so many variations. One of them, the fianchetto is really good.

After Nf3 there is also the really popular Scheveningen.

For the classical variation we play Be2, tha black generally play a6.
And the last main variation to know is the Kupreichik variation, lol what a such name.
I don't really like this variation, but anyways. Black play the move Bd7. To continue the variation we move the white bishop to g6. Attacking the knight with the bishop. In this position, it really look like another variation in an another oppening. Did you find it ? Yes ! It it look like Trompowsky attack with d4 ! Anyways, after white plays Bg6, Black can play the Richter-Roser modern variation.
Youhouu guys ! now that we finished with Nc3, Let's move to the other move ! Good joke, huh ! Umm yeah,,,,,,,, Anyways,,,
So the other variation is the Prins !!! There is also the Ginsberg but I won't do It because it is a gambit.
Here is the prins :
The prins starts with f3, A really good move ! The f3 idea is to protect the center pawn with the f pawn.
There is so many book move in this position (5... e5,  5... c6 and many others) but the main move is e5, just a classic move !
So after e5 there is two good moves, Nb3 and Bf5. Let's start with Nb3. Nb3 is such a good move.
Why ? Because it allows the really powerful c4. And after they go Be6, the best move, we can finally play
c4. The c4 pawn is really powerful, It is protected by the bishop, and the pawn attacks the center and
white has a good position. Let's move now to Bb5, checking the king. Black generally plays Nd7. They
can also protect with the bishop, but after the exchange,  black does not have a bishop to e6. And
Has not developp any pieces yet. So after they protect with the Nd7, It continue with Nf5, and than d5.
Chapter 2. Let's do the puzzles !
Play the open sicilian
Now, which is the best move after : Nf6 ?
Oh, White want now to play the Prins !
Good job ! But What do we have to respond after e5 ? For
the moment, go Nb3 !
Nice ! With c4 White is pretty good.
Now play the Venice attack : Bb5+
Great Job !
Now after 5... Nc3, Black play Nc6, And we wanna play the
Richter-Rauzer attack.
Super !
Black now play the Najdorf, What should we respond ?
Play first Bg5
Now play The english najdorf attack
Play the Opočenský
Now the Adam's Attack, I LOVE IT
YOU PASSED THE TEST ! Good job !
