CHESS OPENINGS - Opening 2 - Scotch Game - Miserable Knight Variation
ATTACHMENT 2: GAME REVIEW
Firstly, I pushed the pawn to d5 which was a good move. The knight should flee to Nc3, but it didn't -- instead, it went to Nd4 and offers to trade knights.
White is having a great advantage of 2.5. After Nxd4, exd4, Qxd4, white will gain a free pawn.
Black attacks our queen with c5 while g6 was the best move. White can perform en passant to escape from the threat. Black takes back with bxc6.
But now, here goes the big mistake. As the d5 square is no longer protected by the c pawn, The queen moves to d5, threatening Qxa8 and Qf7#. Notice the bishop on c4 is supporting the mate.
BUT I ALMOST MISSED THE CHANCE OF IMMEDIATE CHECKMATE!!!
But black played Ne7, and I managed the mate.
CONCLUSION
So that's all for today. Just sharing a game and a way to tackle when the Miserable Knight jumps into your territory!
