How to get "Man vs Machine" achievement
If you’re an achievement hunter like myself, you may notice one achievement that is now impossible to obtain. It is called “Man vs Machine”, which can no longer be obtained since we can no longer play against the bots in a rated live game. In fact, Chess.com has now removed this achievement from the player’s page, which makes the maximum number of achievements you can get is 143 (If you’re curious about all 144 achievements, check out Lee Euler's page).
However, yesterday I obtained my “Man vs Machine” achievement, by sending a message to Chess.com support. Here’s how it goes.
1. Check if you’re available for the achievement.
First, you need to go to your Archive and open the Computer tab. If you have a game in this tab, then you can claim the achievement. If not, sorry, hopefully Chess.com can do something in the future about this.
2. Report a bug to Chess.com
After that, simply report a bug to Chess.com. If you’re opening Chess.com from a browser, it’s the Question Mark icon on your bottom left screen. Write to the support team that you have played against a bot but haven’t got the achievement.
3. Wait for your achievement
Then, just wait for the message from one of the Chess.com support team members, and congratulations! You got your “Man vs Machine” achievement.
PS.
If you want to get all 144 or 143 achievements, Nightwish85's blog is really good at explaining how to do it. You can also consider joining Chess.com Achievement Hunter club where a lot of members will help you get your goals.
