my theory on dimensions

Yesterday i went bowling for 1 hour straight by myself, and three hours later i could not even walk up the stairs. Thus, I simply went to bed. I woke up at 11 pm and since I was not sleepy at all I started thinking about things. So let's talk about dimensions.

I would preface this by saying that there has been much discussion about things such as the fourth dimension, except that I would be lying because I only have two sources in my head that directly talk about dimensions. The first is an Einstein quote that I have no idea if it's a real quote or not, that says that time might be the fourth dimension. The second source is from Death's End by Cixin Liu, a science fiction writer. I lean towards his interpretation. Let me show you why.

To begin with, we must first determine some common patterns. We currently know of three dimensions: the first, second, and third. The first dimension would be best shown by a straight line, since it has only length and nothing else. The second dimension adds another axis, like height or width, and you get a shape (ex: square). And for the third dimension, you add the z-axis to make a 3D shape.

Now that we have our definitions out of the way, let's get to finding some patterns. After some thinking I Was only able to determine two. For the sake of explanation, we will assume that each dimension has life-forms residing in that dimension.

1. The lower dimension is unable to see the higher dimension. When confronted by a being of a higher dimension, it can only comprehend it in terms of it's own. A line, when looking at a square, can only see a line. See below for illustration.

Now imagine a 2D object looking at a 3D one: it will only see things in terms of planes, and will be unable to see depth. Example illustration:

Thus, we can extrapolate that even if we were to see 4D beings, we would not be able to notice that they are 4D, since we cannot see that extra axis that is added for each dimension.

2. The higher dimension can see the complete being of the lower dimension. This idea I took from Cixin Liu; for in Death's End looking at the third dimension from the fourth, one could see inside a person; From the skin all the way down to the bones and hearts and other organs. Spaceships were not just hulls; one could see all the inner mechanisms and all the people and everything inside the people. To show what I mean, take a square with a star in the middle. Another square might just see, ah, a square. But we can see the star that's clearly inside the square.

"If being three dimensional was put on a piece of paper, being in the fourth dimension would be like exiting the paper and looking at it from above." - paraphrased.

Now, moving on, why the fourth dimension would NOT be time:

First of all, each higher dimension adds something that the previous dimension has not experienced. We cannot see, think, feel, or comprehend it in any way. Time is something we can comprehend, and it is surely present in lower dimensions as well. Thus, there is no way for time to be the fourth dimension, or the fifth, or anything higher than our own. Thinking of it this way, it's likely that time might be the 0th dimension, but I don't even know if that's an actual concept or somethjing i made up at 11:30pm last night, and I will NOT fact check it (but you are free to do so).

So you must be thinking by now, what else does all this mean? If it is true, what kind of effect will it have on me? Well, let's think. If a 2D being can't recognize a 3D being, then we cannot recognize a 4D being. Thus, there might even be some actual 4 dimensional life forms AMON-
