Crush White With The Accelerated Sicilian Dragon
The Accelerated Sicilian Dragon may be the best way to play the Sicilian. I say this for a few reasons:
- It's easier to learn. You don't have to study as much.
- There are not very many ways for white to attack.
- There are several ways that black can attack.
- It is definitely the coolest sounding version of the Sicilian.
I usually don't play the Sicilian, but when I do, this is the way to go. Today, I would like to show you a new way to play the Sicilian. This is a very strong way to play the Accelerated Sicilian Dragon. Black has many chances to attack.
There are a few different ways that white can continue. Here is a trap that white can fall into.
I should probably also say that the trap works if white plays another common move, 7: f4. Black responds by castling, and the game continues. Back the critical position, and one more response.
From these first moves, you can tell that white has to be very careful. So careful, that white players might try to avoid that position, by playing something like this in the first 3 or 4 moves.
This was just a very very basic introduction to the Accelerated Sicilian Dragon. If you start playing with just the knowledge of what I showed you, I can guarantee that you will lose.
However, if you really focus on this opening, and maybe watch some videos, read some books, and practice it on sites like this, your ability to play the Sicilian will get much better. Not many people know how to play against it, so if you are looking for a good opening to play, this is it.
I hope you enjoyed this post on the Sicilian. If you would like to get notified when I post more chess content, click follow in the top right. If not, that's okay. Have a wonderful day!
