Vishy Anand Loses In 6 Moves!

This is an unbelievable game played in 1988, by Vishy Anand and Zapata Alonso. At the time, Vishy was rated 2555, and his opponent was just under 2480. It was crazy how quickly this game was lost! I know that many beginners blunder in the Russian Defense, but not great chess players like Anand. This is a simple trap I like to do on beginners that play that Russian Defense.

That will work on almost any player rated below 800. It's really fun to play also. However, Vishy Anand is not 800, so how did this happen? That's the same thing I'm wondering. Here's the game.

It's hard to believe that after 6 moves, a GM is down 3 points. This is one of the most interesting yet terrible chess games ever. I've made articles about Magnus Carlsen and Bobby Fischer losing quickly, but not this quickly. I mean, 6 moves! That is so incredibly quick! I've had another idea lately. Comment if you want to see my top 5 chess.com games! That will take a while to make, but I think it will help. As always, read this 3, 6, 12, or 14 times. Share it with a friend, go to the streets of the biggest city within 100 miles of you and shout my blog's URL over and over again. Sorry I haven't posted for a whole week. I was a bit blogged out after, was it 4 blogs in one weekend. Somebody go see if it was three or four. See you guys soon.
