It's Saturday morning, I have a terrible toothache, and I'm just trying to play some chess. The sad reality, there are two different types of people here, chess players and tech geeks.

The tech geeks are not interested in chess, the want to beat the system. Chess com and other sites are trying to stop cheating, to them it's just a challenge, can I cheat and get away with it.

I just played someone with a cartoon for a profile picture and a borrowed name from history. I'm winning, then suddenly an extremely long pause, then perfect moves from my opponent. I suspect this is why we get so few official online tournaments anymore, too much cheating. 

The problem, you can't shame someone who doesn't care about chess. A chess player would not be satisfied with that.

This cute in the right light girl was kicking your butt so badly you had to run to your mommy, I mean chess program lol, crying and asking for help.

But a tech geek doesn't care, because they don't care about chess. I'm hoping to get a deal, but it's a weird business, who knows lol. But either me or someone else will eventually do what is needed to solve this problem.

Verify your members, you'll eliminate the cheat geeks, because they rely heavily on anonymous accounts, and real chess players will be too afraid of the shame.

I personally know a master who was banned for cheating about 5 years ago. I've never asked him about it, and he's never brought it up. He's my friend, so I believe him, but it's a mark on his career. It's an embarrassment, because people know who he is.

Verified players is the only way to solve this problem
