This is the 10th part of my series about World Chess Champions and this time it is the turn of Boris Spassky, whoe defeated Tigran Petrosian in 1969 to become the 10th World Champion. Later he would be the loser of the legendary match of Iceland ´72, when Fischer changed history beating the soviets (talking of Bobby, he will be the hero of my next video from the series).

Spassky has a really universal style, being able to play both tactical and sharp games and also long positional manouvring battles. Boris is also a very respected character outside the board, being always in a good mood, even after defeats. The last piece of news I remember of him was a confusing story in which he was told to have escaped from France. A great champion and a great person. Hope you like the game, an interesting sicilian with a nice attack.

Happy New Year everyone out there!
