How to get Castle Victory
You already know about the secret achievement Killer King, right?
Did you know there is another secret 🔑 achievement called Castle victory?
Do you also want to know how to get it? Well, you've came to the right place.
Castle Victory is pretty self - explanatory. But I will tell you here.
You need to get castle victory by making castling the checkmating move. By doing this, you need to make sure that when you do the check, there is no legal moves for the king. For example, set up a rook/ queens on each side of the file that the opponent's king was in, then castle. But to do this, you need to make sure that you haven't moved your king or rook.
It is very difficult to influence naturally, but you just need to deliver mate with castling.
note: You can't get castle victory and killer king at the same time.
Here I will show you a game.
Here is the game I got it in. you see I was able to win material through forking, skewering, and pinning. This cleared up the board, allowing me to maneuver my opponent's king to the right square. I hadn't moved my queenside rook or my king this game, so I delivered mate by queenside castling. I carefully positioned my pawns, bishops, queens, and rooks to not make stalemate.
Here is a gif of the same game:

My Efforts
You guys want to know how long it took and what I had to deal with to get this achievement? I will tell you know. It all started by me figuring out that there was such an achievement. I knew I had to get it, so I started planning on what position I needed to get this. I started by checking out Croissant's video. Now that I knew how to do it, I started trying. I read about it and saw that majority of the people get it by asking their opponent to let them do it. But I knew that I wouldn't do that because if I ended up getting it that way, I wouldn't be proud of it. So, I started playing games and found out it was way harder than I thought. I got so close 2 times, but the opponent resigned. After this, I instated a no resign rule for most of my games. In fact, in a game I got a couple moves away, but accidently checkmated. Ever since then, I've just said " the opportunity will come eventually. I just got to wait for it. Finally, on August 20, 2024, in a game, I saw a light and took it. Just like that, I have Castle Victory. I was so close to giving up but never did. That is perseverance.
Good luck on your journeys to get Castle Victory!
