Rook Endgame Challenge #4
My last challenge completed the King + Rook vs. King + Pawn. However, there's still one more position that I should include, the Saavedra position. Named after the Spanish priest Rev. Fernando Saavedra (1849 - 1922), who found the winning technique in a position previously thought to have been a draw. This is a very practical position in learning one of the most important tactical motifs for rook endings, the skewer. This challenge also includes an endgame study that's very similar to the Saavedra position and will further explore the skewer tactic. Thanks for tuning in to BK Academy of chess and good luck.

After White promotes, however, the game if far from over as the queen vs. rook is not an easy win so continue to the fight to save the game, give White a hard way to go and put White to the test.
