Learn the Benko Gambit!
We're continuing on with our ChessPathways.com "Opening Overviews" series today with the Benko Gambit.
The Benko Gambit is unique in that the pawn sacrifice is not played with the aim of achieving a big attack. Instead, black sacrifices a pawn for purely positional aims - namely, tremendous pressure on the white queenside!
Check out these examples, including one game where Black's queenside pressure proved overwhelming, and one where White weathered the storm and emerged a clean pawn up!
I hope you enjoy the video! Please remember to sign up free on ChessPathways.com if you enjoy my content - it's completely free, only takes 5 seconds, and I'll send you a free "Move by Move Guide to Chess Thinking" when you do. I'm trying to help more players become Masters - hopefully in a fraction of the time it took me.
