16 year old Indian Prodigy Gukesh D defeats R Praggnanandhaa and is making a Tournament comeback

16 year old Indian Prodigy Gukesh Dommaraju had a terrible start to his first ever super classical chess Tournament the Tata Steel Masters 2023 at Wijk Aan Zee .

He lost his first 2 rounds aginst World No 2 Ding Liren who will play the World Championship match in April 2023 in Kazakhstan , and Anish Giri. He managed to draw Nordirbek and Jorden and Rapport but lost 2 games in a row to Fabiano and Weasley So, He was at one point about to beat Weasley So but then lost as he blundered under time pressure. 

In Round 8 he faced Parham  who came in as a replacement for Duda . 

Gukesh managed to get a winning position yet again but blundered and Parham could not find knight takes g6 and lost the game and Gukesh got his first win.

Gukesh then took on Magnus Carlsen the World Champion who was Fresh after beating Rapport and Fabiano but Gukesh had done good opening prep in the Ragozin and got a comfortable position and could have pushed for a win, but was very hard to find it and got a forced draw and at 16 years he managed to draw the World Champion. 

Gukesh in the postmatch analysed the game for 50 minutes with Magnus. 

Gukesh had to face his Childhood friend fellow indian prodigy R Praggnandha who beat World No 2 Ding Liren and Jorden and was looking to get 2700 by beating Gukesh.

The round Started with Gukesh playing the english and went for g4 rg1 and said this was his preperation , this was previously played bet Anish  Giri and Ian Nepo in 2020 , but Gukesh missed long castle and blundered but Pragg blundered too and could not win and despite piece sacrifice Pragg could not manage to draw the game and Gukesh cleanly won. 

Gukesh is a young Indian talent and was World no 18 at at the age of 15 which is insane , after a bad start he could have easily just got crushed by everyone but after Weasley game , he beat Parham , drew Magnus and yet another win and is getting back his rating points which he lost.
