All about the Dutch

Hey guys! It's me, Bobo, and I haven't been making blogs since a month or two ago, so this one will be one in a long time. Anyways, I saw a poll in this website that asked "would you rather have d5, or f5 be played against d4?" Well, I chose f5 of course, but not a lot of people know the opening. White starts out with 1.d4 and then 1. ... f5.

if you like the french though, you can play 1.d4, e6 and maybe on move second, white will play 2.e4 converting it into the french.
most likely, white will play c4, Nf3, g3, or Bg5. today I will talk you about the c4 variation in the Dutch. After white plays 2.c4, then you have two options. The first one is to play e6, and the second is to play Nf3. They poth transfer into the same position though, after 2. ...Nf3/e6 and 3.g3, e6/Nf3. If White plays g3, it becomes a Stonewall position, with black playing d5, c6, and Bd6, 0-0. Whites plan is after g3, Bg2, 0-0, Nc3
in the Stonewall, there isn't really much to do. White usually tries to go for e4, destroying blacks pawn structure, while black tries to defend from white playing e4. White also sometimes plays on the queenside. Now, let's play, spot the mistake! I will list a game that I played, and you will try to guess the mistake that I played! Here we go! First game:
did you guess Bb4? Well if you did, you are correct! Here is the full game, I lost terribly even though he missed some moves:
alright, my next blog will be sometime this or next week, so adios amigos! And happy late Thanksgiving!
