Could a computer consistently beat Magnus Carlsen at chess?
It's widely understood that the top rated chess engines (and A.I.) are far superior to human players now. In fact, the best human GMs & IMs use chess engines to prepare for tournaments and champion-level play. Magnus & Nakamura have both stated openly that they wouldn't ever dream of beating the best chess engines now. At best, Magnus could play for draw after draw (when repeatedly found in losing positions) and attempt to mitigate the losses - but decisively beating the top engines by checkmate would be incredibly rare (if at all). This is Magnus carlsen vs a chess.com bot
