When reading a chess book I find it so much easier to study the game on-line rather than on a physical board. Also, I sometimes wish to see how the position was arrived at.

In 2017 GM Andrew Soltis published a wonderful book 365 Chess Master Lessons in which he annotates 720 short, master level games with questions and answers to instruct the reader.  I have compiled an on-line library of all these 720 games, most of which are from Chess.com's database, though I entered some 200 myself.  These may be found on

Perhaps we should more accurately say that Drueke was the first American to envision mass producing American chessmen.  Alan Buschmann has collected many 19th century American stationary catalogs which sell chess and checker sets made by local craftsmen.  Here is a link to his well-researched article.
