My 1960 Soviet Chess Clock.
Just acquired this lovely 1960 Soviet chess clock. It was recently serviced and keeps impeccable time. Despite its obvious wear and tear. Compared to other chess clocks I have, this one towers over a board as it is quite large and easy to read, even with my poor eyesight. It even makes this big board with 2.50" squares look small. I love the sound of its "tick tock tick tock". It adds an element of pressure on opponents and sometimes myself, keeping games exciting. I was told it has a character family known as Семьянин. It is stamped on the bottom with a date that says 1960. The marks on the face say 4M43 which suggests it was made at the Moscow Watch Factory.
Obviously, I'm not using this for 1/1 bullet games as an old lady like this must be respected and treated gently. That's why The USA made Chronos... But when you want to play classical chess, this is a pure pleasure to use.
