French Queens Silician Gambit for Black
or something like that... which is not so much a theory as a question. Someone had posted a blog entitled "Opening Frustrations" and Fischer (who is either the legendary Robert "Bobby" Fischer himself or a clever impostor) left the following response buried with in amongst the other none to erudite responses:
What I would suggest is picking one opening for White and playing it game after game after game until you are comfortable with it. As Black, you should pick one defense for e4 and one for d4 and, again, stick with it until you are comfortable.
So, the question is this... what would you (assuming you have studied openings and or defenses etc, eta) recommend studying? I have asked Fischer that same question and am hoping he will answer as well but, as with any subject, I like to see a wide range of answers... So, if you have an opinion and you feel it is valid please share... or, if you're like me, you'll just sit back and read everyone else's answers and try to come up with one of your own from all the information provided by others.
