Best Snacks To Eat When You Play Chess

Ahhh. I remember this blog. I wrote it a few months ago but accidentally deleted the post! (Big miss tap on my part!)

Note, that this is not for OTB chess, only online.

Anyways, I thought it would be a good idea to redo it. But, I am doing it a little differently than last time.

CANDY BARS!

Let me point something out, having a candy bar now and then is fine, but don't eat a lot of them, most have bad chemicals and a lot of sugar and food dye.

  • Twix, Twix is my favorite candy bar by far! Just don't touch it, use the wapper to pick up/eat it or you will get your screen or keyboard sticky. Not at all good for your game or your phone/PC/Tablet/laptop.
  • 3 Musketeers, is another of my favorites, but again, use it wapper!
  • PayDay, I've only had one before, and I don't like it, I don't like peanuts.

HEALTHY SNACKS

I love healthy snacks while playing chess.

  • Pistachios are my favorite nut! I eat them all the time! A good rule of thumb is to always have them de-shelled. It is very hard and painful to open the shell and eat at the same time as playing.
  • Protein shakes, I love protein shakes, it is a fantastic way to keep your stomach full and your mind thanking straight during tournaments.
  • Protein bars, just like the protein shakes, just in the form of a bar.

  FRUIT!

Fruit is another really good one. Make sure when eating fruit and playing that you have a towel and don't get any juices on your keyboard, screen, mouse, or your face!

  • Apple, apples are my favorite fruit, I especially like granny Smith apples, if you are not familiar with Grammy Smith apples then read this from Wikipedia, "The Granny Smith, also known as a green apple or sour apple, is an apple cultivar which originated in Australia in 1868. It is named after Maria Ann Smith, who propagated the cultivar from a chance seedling".
  • Orange slices are a favorite as well, very nice taste, but are very messy! Keep a towel close by!
  • Grapes, I love grapes, you can eat them off the steam, cut in half, or my personal favorite, frozen. I love frozen grapes. They are easy to eat and perfect to eat as you play.

I hope this was helpful information for everyone, please share this blog with your friends, and keep an eye out for my next blog!

See ya next time!
