How to play your opponent
"how to play your opponent" is a very interesting title no? *Background laughter*
You see, in this blog, I want to explain "how to play your opponent".
First, you need to watch them, play a basic opening, and watch how they react.
Are they attacking? Are they defending? Are they playing aggressively? Are they being careful?
Those 4 questions are the way to understand your opponent.
If you understand them, you can play them.
Look for pins, mate, and checkmate.
Do they like to play fast? Are they pre-moving?
If you can guess your opponent's move, you can counter it before they even move!
Crazy right?
Let me quote something from myself,
"Watch, and learn"
Watch and learn,
Watch and LEARN!
To be able to play your opponent Into a trap, you have to watch them.
Now, this will work for almost any time control, other than bullet, or hyper chess.
In both of these, you don't have time to plan a trap.
You have to trust your gut and practice.
So, get on the board and start playing! You have to learn.
I don't know about you all, but a chess Coach is very expensive! Very expensive! I know I can't afford one, I know that getting a membership is expensive. But, if you want to get better there are other ways.
Watch titled players play, do puzzles, play un-rated. Do the lessons.
If you want it, then work for it.
Don't expect to wake up one day and be good at Chess.
It's setting unrealistic goals. You have to understand how to play, how to work, and how to get better if you want to get better.
