2021 St. Patrick Open

I hosted the 3rd annual St. Patrick Open on March 13 & 14. The event was won by visiting IM Justin Sarkar from NY! He also defeated 17 players in a Simul on Saturday night. I had one bye during the tournament. I always wonder what it will be like to play AND direct a tournament. I have had good and mediocre results. I really didn't feel distracted, but I didn't play great either. I guess I prefer to just play usually.

I have now lost 125 rating points after peaking at 1815, all since I started wearing a mask at tournaments! I'd say it's time to revert to normal. It might help my game anyway I was able to win the 2020 MT Open with a score of 4.5/5 (should have been 5/5) and gained 75 points. I have had two tourneys where I have gained over 100 pts. It's time to kick it into high gear as I approach the 2021 MT Open in May.
