2021 Turkey Open

This past weekend the annual 2021 Turkey Open was held in Missoula at the Best Western. This is always a tough tournament with a good turnout. Last years event was cancelled due to Covid, and in 2019 I scored 3/5. Forty-Three players showed up this year with a couple coming from Idaho and Washington. I'll let the games' comments do the talking. Enjoy!

I always try to look at the positives, or signs that I'm improving. For right now it's that I've finished 1st or 2nd in my last 4 Montana tournaments I don't know yet if I gained any rating, as I was fighting out of a round 1 deficit. I also received my 5th 1st Category Norm and Title for the 4/5 result in Butte, which is simply a Class A title awarded by the USCF and likely the highest one I will achieve.
