Upcoming October 2018 Daily Tournaments
Hello everyone, it is time for my monthly announcements for all upcoming daily tournaments I am directing for October. Simply click the title of each tournament listed to enter the registration page and reserve your spot. Each tournament I am directing has a time control of three days per move and vacation time is allowed! However, each player must have played at least 50 rated daily games to meet the requirement for registration.
For this October, there are six tournaments that will start by the end of the month. First, a memorial tournament for Buster Keaton, the legendary American comedian who is best remembered for his career in the silent movie era. His memorial tournament will begin on his birthday, October 4th. Four days later on October 8th, the Columbus Day Open will start. Later in the month on the 23rd, the Scorpio Open starts.
Three days after the Scorpio Open on the 26th, a memorial tournament begins for Napoleon Hill, the American writer who is widely considered the pioneer of self-help books. On the final day of October, the 31st, two tournaments begin. First, a memorial tournament for Alexander Alekhine, the fourth World Chess Champion followed by the Halloween Open.
On a final note, I recently decided on a name for my blog here on chess.com. From this day forward, the name of this blog is 64 Squares. I plan on making weekly blog posts on a wide variety of chess topics in the near future. Stay tuned for upcoming posts!
Sincerely,
Charles Collier
