UNTOLD: CHESS MATES


After a rather long wait, it’s finally happening, Netflix is going to release the highly anticipated documentary about Magnus Carlsen, Hans Niemann and anal beads!

I created this blog post so we can discuss our initial thoughts on this upcomming documantary. On the 10th of March 2026 Netflix released a small trailer about the upcoming sports documentary (link here) on Youtube.


Futhermore, Chess.com ceo Eric Allebest and cco Daniel Rensch uploaded a trailer reaction on Youtube with their their about the upcoming Documentary (link here).


In their reaction, they shortly emphasis that they did not have any editorial control about the documentary. And the also answer some question regarding the making/process of this sports documentary.
