An article from Dan Heisman's home page is titled, "The Evaluation of Material Imbalances". In the article is a featured "Famous Brilliancy" game with Kasparov against Shirof and highlighting this article's theme.
The purpose of this blog is multi-fold as I endeavor to "wrap-my-head-around" the author's discussion of "counting". This game does not have a PGN link and the position is not shown. So this blog allows for the interactive opportunity to study this brilliancy. Finally, I hope other players will add their comments to help bring the game's brilliancy to the surface for better understanding.
