11-Year-Old IM Wins ChessKid Youth SCC!
Hey ChessKids! What a week. Up-and-coming chess star FM Yagiz Erdogmus accomplished an astounding feat winning the 2022 CKYSCC, and FunMasterMike is making an appearance at the 2022 World Youth Championship in Mamaia, Romania!
2022 ChessKid Youth Speed Chess Championship Winner!
FM Yagiz Erdogmus of Turkey won the 2022 CKYSCC, overcoming the talented Argentinian CM Ilan Schnaider with a score of 10 to 4 in the final match! Watch the recap here.
Throughout this event, the young chess star raised his rating by 100 Elo points! Yagiz is now an IM-elect (with a rating of 2460) and is the number 10 player in Turkey at the age of 11 years old. He also recently played at the Serbian Open, defeating three GMs along the way -- so watch out for more to come from this young Turkish talent!

Thanks to a generous invite from the Romanian Chess Federation, ChessKid will be attending the 2022 World Youth U14, U16, U18 Championship in Mamaia, Romania!
This event will take place between September 5-17, 2022, with many fun chess activities to join. The ChessKid booth will also be set up with puzzles to solve and prizes to win! Come stop by and join us. You may even catch FunMasterMike hanging out and playing against chess fans!

The fun doesn't stop there! On September 10, 2022, at 10 a.m. local Romanian time, ChessKid and the Romanian Chess Federation will be hosting a very special over-the-board tournament: The Mamaia ChessKid Blitz Championship. Enter for a chance to win medals, trophies, and ChessKid Gold Memberships! All participants will receive a certificate of participation signed by FunMasterMike.
