A ChessKid New Year: New Shows, New Tournaments, New Winners!

Hey ChessKids We have lots of updates for you this month. Get ready for new tournaments, new shows, and new winners!

New Show: Trick the TrickyQueen

ChessKid is excited to announce that a famous friend of Elsa is coming to ChessKid! That's right, TrickyQueen signed an exclusive contract and will be making her ChessKid debut on Wednesday, January 20.

She asked to be paid in hot chocolate and salted fish, and ChessKid obliged. Elsa told her about ChessKid and how much fun it is to play kids there.

If you want to be able to match against TrickyQueen,
send her a friend request now. Like her co-host FunMasterMike, she will accept the request right away.

New Tournament: ChessKid Monthly Championship

Ok, technically, this is a revamp. We decided our monthly marquee event, "Mighty Monthly Matchup," needed to be energized. We bring you: ChessKid Monthly Championship! The event will still be held on the first Tuesday of every month and will replace the Mighty Monthly Matchup. You will definitely want to be a part of this year-long series. 

What's Different:

• Prizes! The first place winner of each ChessKid Monthly Championship gets to play FunMasterMike during his next episode of BeatFunMasterMike (keep up with the calendar here). Look out for an email from us after the event -- we'll contact you to set it up!
• But that's not all. All ChessKid Monthly Champions during the remainder of the year (February to November, so 10 winners) qualify for a tournament in December to decide the ChessKid Grand Championship of 2021. Prizes for THAT tournament are TBD.
• So step up to the plate, ChessKids! The first official ChessKid Monthly Championship is Tuesday, February 2nd. Remember, to play, you must be a part of the ChessKid Official Club. Then, you join the tournament from Fast Chess.

We're also keeping a record of our ChessKid Monthly Champions, so bookmark this page. That means if you win, you'll be famous on ChessKid forever. The top three from the most recent month will be posted. After your month passes, we will only be listing spot #1 (unless there was a tie). To be fair, we've included all past winners of the Mighty Monthly Matchup.

New Tournament Winners

Last but not least, the "My Fault Cup" winners are in! We hosted this tournament to make up for the technical issues and subsequent events that occurred during our most recent tournament with US Chess.
