Hey ChessKids! Results are rolling in! Let’s take a look at some brilliant young chess winners from the ChessKid Candidates, Youth Speed Chess Championship, and Region 6 of the European Team Festival.
ChessKid Intercontinental Candidates Results
With a Standard FIDE rating of 2059, Artyom Bogdanov from Kazakhstan finished as the winner of the 2022 ChessKid Intercontinental Candidates Tournament!

With a close draw in the third round, Arti finished the tournament with a strong 6.5/7 score, a 0.5-point lead in front of fellow contender Alex Villa Tornero.
The top three players (Artyom Bogdanov, Alex Villa Tornero, and Jaime Rey Martinez) received trophies to mark their victory, and all participants received certificates. Congratulations, everyone!

2022 ChessKid YSCC First Round Results
After a series of hard-fought matches, FM Yagiz Erdogmus showed why he's the top-seeded player with an incredible 17.5-.5 performance against Polish star Filip Ochedzan. Close competition followed in the remaining matches, especially the fourth and final match which featured an exciting tiebreaker.
The brackets are set for the semifinals.

ChessKid European Team Festival Region 6 Results
On June 25, 2022, Region 6 of the monthly ChessKid European Team Festival took place featuring the countries of Portugal, Greece, Italy, and Spain. The first semifinal against Italy ended with a flawless 8.0-0.0 victory for Portugal. Then, a close match between Spain and Greece resulted in a tiebreaker to settle the win for Greece. With a 4.5-3.5 score, Portugal took the win against Greece in the final!
