ChessKid Offers Grants for School Systems

Another week has gone by, and this Friday we are back with some big news: We're unrolling a nationwide grant program to help children in the public school system learn to play chess!

ChessKid grants will help schools move valuable interactions like these online.

Chess creates a host of positive effects when integrated into the education process at a young age: improved concentration, mental stamina, patience, problem-solving skills. Chess also improves sportsmanship. And of course--it's fun!

With all of these amazing benefits, we want to make sure that chess is accessible to schools across the country experiencing  academic and budgetary disruption. Our students may not be able to meet with chess clubs, coaches, and teams in real life--but they can certainly continue to learn online in a safe and engaging fashion.

ChessKid can help students reconnect with their peers and teachers.

We are providing free Gold ChessKid accounts through this program for every elementary student in a given school/district. We anticipate helping a variety of age groups/demographics nationwide.

These grants are available for the 2020-2021 school year for any public school system in the U.S. Please direct any questions about the grant application process towards our Education Director Ranae Bartlett at Ranae@ChessKid.com
