International Master Shreyas Royal!
Known as the number-one-rated teen in the UK, chess prodigy FM Shreyas Royal successfully achieved the final IM norm needed for the International Master title this past weekend!
At just 13 years old, the young chess master earned all three norms in consecutive tournaments in less than two months. His strong performance at the Hull 4 Nations Chess League International GM Tournament scored him a rating of 2489 and his third and final IM norm!
Finishing fourth in the tournament on 5 points, 0.5 points behind the winner, Shreyas defeated several strong titled opponents on his way to his final IM norm. View Shreyas’ final game of the tournament against Hungarian GM Gabor Nagy, playing some great converting techniques to end the tournament with two wins in a row here.
