NM Brewington Hardaway Earns First IM Norm!

Young chess master NM Brewington Hardaway achieved his first IM norm at the New York GM/IM Winter Invitational with an outstanding score of 6/9 points!

At 13 years old, the ChessKid superstar has climbed his way up, securing multiple national champion titles before earning his first IM norm. Brew recently earned the 8th-grade title at the 2022 K-12 National Chess Championships in Maryland National Harbor, making that his second national title win thus far.

Brew's advice on maximizing your performance:

The key to having a good performance in long tournaments like national championships is to save your energy for the chess games, and to not get distracted by anything and stay focused during the game. - Brew
