Recap: ChessFest 2022, 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad
Hey ChessKids! As summer is sadly coming to an end, let us recap some of the biggest ChessKid events of the season: London's ChessFest 2022 and the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad.
On July 17, 2022, ChessKid joined the gathering of chess fans in London's iconic plaza, Trafalgar Square, for the UK's largest chess festival: ChessFest. Organized by Chess In Schools and Communities, the event featured live performances, booths, and chess-related activities.
We were thrilled to have met so many of you at the ChessKid booth, checking out our apps and playing live games with WIM Ivette Garcia.
Thank you, ChessKids and chess fans, for your support and love of chess! We can't wait for all the fun next summer will bring.
In the past few weeks, ChessKid hosted several exciting events in Chennai, India, during the 44th Chess Olympiad: An exclusive masterclass with GM Vishy Anand, "Stump the GM", and plenty of activities at the ChessKid booth.
In partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) India, ChessKid organized the unique "Stump the GM" event where GM Viswanathan Anand and GM Prithu Gupta challenged each other with chess studies and puzzles.
The day this event took place, July 29, 2022, was also the International Day of the Tiger, so WWF India featured activities such as a special Tiger Quiz, Tiger Anthem, and more!
Little-known fact: Vishy’s nickname is 'The Tiger of Madras' (a very fitting collaboration indeed)
The ChessKid booth was also a big hit, with puzzle battles, over-the-board games against the ChessKid team, simultaneous matches with IM Rakesh Kulkarni, a trivia quiz, and more!
We had such a great time meeting so many ChessKids at all these events during the Olympiad. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and made these events memorable. We look forward to meeting even more of you at our next events!
