Chess at 2019 Deaflympics in Chiavenna, Italy
This year marks the first time that the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) has recognized chess as a sport at the Winter Deaflympics.
The American Chess Association of the Deaf (ACAD) is in the process of assembling men's and women's teams to send to the competition.
The format will be as follows:
Standard Time Control: four-person men's team with two alternates and four-person women's team with two alternates
Blitz Time Control: three-person men's team with one alternate and three-person women's team with one alternate
