The rules are fairly simple: Duck Chess adds Capture the King, but it also adds the “Duck Placement” mechanic. On the 1st move, after White makes their move, they can place the Duck (wall) piece onto any square on the board that is unoccupied by a piece. After Black makes their move, they can then move this (same) Duck to another square.

Also coming in the next update: Seirawan Chess/Setup. You start with 2 pieces (the chancellor and the archbishop) in your piece bank, similarly to Crazyhouse. However, you can only place these pieces after the first time you move a back row piece, meaning 8 possible starting squares for them.

And lastly, Setup Chess. Does everyone remember Automate? Well, this is Automate, but YOU play the moves instead of an engine. A lot of server power conserved, and a variant returned…

Hello, I write blogs about chess variants and speed chess!

My goal is to make more high quality and informative blogs in the future (currently sitting at around 10 pages of impulsive posts lol), but we'll see how that goes
