my blog
Why start a chess blog? For one thing, I think it will be useful to track and focus my improvement. Let me tell you about me and chess. I first discovered the game like so many other people when I was a child. I enjoyed the game, and played from time to time. I had some talent. In middle school (grade 6-8, so ages 11-13 maybe) we had a chess club and by the end of the year I had risen to the top of the rankings. Unfortunately there were not really any resources available to me or people to play against so I neglected chess for several years. At the end of high school my friends and I played a bit, then later on I would play some blitz games on FICS, and watch some games of the masters.
Over the last couple of weeks I have been taking chess a bit more seriously, playing a lot of daily games here on chess.com, playing some puzzles as well and studying a bit of the openings. Right now I am quite low rated, but hopefully with effort I can improve in time.
